Evaluation Methods

Points from Test (4), optional Quick Quizzes* (3), Brief Statement*, Presentation* and a required Statistical Survey Research Project Paper.


*NOTE: The following are optional: Quick Quizzes, Brief Statement and the Presentation are ONLY earned IF the Statistical Survey Research Project Paper is submitted. The Statistical Survey Research Project Paper is graded from 0 to 30 points.

Course Schedule

Students will be evaluated and provided feedback during the course. The following are the points that are possible. You need to keep track of your own points by using the "Your Points" column (on the syllabi). This schedule may be changed at anytime during the semester. I will inform you if and when these changes take place.

Maximum Points (a total possible of 255, including 25 extra optional points)

Test (4)                       =  50  each
Quick Quiz (3)              =   5* each
Brief Statement             =  5*
Presentation                  5*
Stats Survey Project       = 30 (maximum possible points)

Grading Scale

  • 255 - 207 = A
  • 206 - 184 = B
  • 183 - 161 = C
  • 160 - 138 = D
  • 137 - 000 = F
  • Extra Points and Note

    *Extra Points: Quick Quizzes, Brief Statement and the Presentation are consider Extra Points and cannot be made up.  *These extra optional 25 points can ONLY be earned IF the Statistical Survey Research Project Paper is submitted.
    Finally, your success comes from having a better understanding of the materials by attending the class discussions.

    NOTE: You may use one page of notes for your test and quick quizzes.

     

    IMPORTANT DATES:

    Holiday's Monday: Sept. 7 (Labor Day)
    Last Day to Drop:Oct. 16 (Friday) Please make it is your responsibility to drop the course.
    Finals Week: Dec. 14 (Monday) Presentations and Stats Project Due, same start time.
